Horse Portrait Photography Workshop

This workshop is designed for photographers who want to elevate their portrait techniques while working with one of the most expressive and challenging subjects in photography — horses. Participants will learn how to create striking portraits that showcase emotion, movement, elegance, and the unique connection between horse and handler.

This workshop is led by Jameela Alawadi

The session will cover both theoretical and practical approaches, including:

·        Understanding horse behavior and movement

·        Safe positioning and communication around horses

·        Natural light techniques for equine portraits

·        Creating cinematic compositions and storytelling frames

·        Capturing details, expressions, and motion

·        Lens selection and camera settings for fast-moving subjects

·        Working with riders/models for lifestyle and editorial-style imagery

During the hands-on session, participants will have the opportunity to photograph horses in controlled portrait scenarios as well as dynamic action moments, guided by the instructor throughout the shoot.
